On Friday 15th March 2019, a glitterati of Liberty Life Kenya’s finest financial advisors gathered at the Annual Liberty Life Kenya Financial Advisors Awards Gala held at the Serena Hotel to celebrate their outstanding contribution to Liberty Life Kenya’s bottom-line.
At least 100 agents were present in competition of a diverse category of awards, demonstrating a fantastically growing dedication to business growth.
At the individual level, the insurance agents matriarch Zilpah Abila won big taking home the Liberty Life Agent of the Year, Platinum Business Partner Award and a Millionaires Award for striking top most numbers in 2018. Other individual category winners included Tom Achieng, Moses Mabonga, Vincent Orina, Alfred Otunge, Catherine Ikiara and Rose Litunda. Catherine Njau of Ikirima Agency won the Rookie of the Year Award.
Kiche Agency won the coveted Excellence Award, closely pipping Ndolo Agency and Kinyua Agency in second and third respectively. Orina Agency won the Persistency Awards.
Themed, Customer Obsession – Offering Quality Financial Services, the event was graced by Stanbic Bank Chief Executive Charles Mudiwa, Liberty Life Kenya Managing Director Abel Munda and Heritage Insurance Company Ltd Managing Director Geoffrey Kioi.
In his keynote address, Mr. Mudiwa challenged the advisors to go beyond the to penetrate insurance markets previously unattended to.
“The world of insurance just like any other industry faces newfound adversities affecting the latter-day business. There is need for constant innovation and product diversification attendant to new markets,” said Mr. Mudiwa.
According to Mr. Munda, it is the eighteenth year of such an event and the company will continue to create a conducive environment for financial advisors in the company to encourage growth, product and service innovation, prudence in risk management and quality in service delivery.

At the same event, eight Liberty Life Kenya and Heritage Insurance financial advisors received special accolades for their outstanding contribution to the world of insurance following their recognition at the AKI Agents of the Year Awards 2019.
In the industry awards, Zilpah Abila picked up two awards, an individual Senior Agent Award for her years in the industry and a Fifth best award in the Top 60 of New Business Production Award, the best in the Group. Others in the same category were Moses Mabonga (7), Tom Achieng (29), Alfred Okanda (36), Kennedy Nyambare (55) and Catherin Mutinda (56).Mr. Ochieng also won the Persistency Award.
At the corporate level, Liberty Life Kenya won the Most Improved Company and Heritage Insurance took home the 1st Runners-up position in the Insurance Motor Data System (IMDS) Award category.
